beyound CNC mill

Hi,

Thanks to the knowledge gleaned from this list and the internet, have
now a cnc'ed 3 axis mill running successfully. Got the itch again and
want to try something else, perhaps like a mini CNC panel saw/beam
saw or anything cnc'ed for learning purposes.

What is involved in a cnc beam saw? Software any different from the
likes of CNCPro, turbocnc, master5, etc? What is being controlled in
a cnc beam saw? How feasible is it to build a mini cnc beam saw? Any
plans or example available on the internet?
