I'm using a 3 axis CNC mill with about 6" of quill travel. I'm
milling a pretty deep part which is using most of my quil travel.
The tool length offest between my mill cutter and short drill /
jacobs / quick switch adapter is around 4". I don't have enogh quill
travel to handle this offset. When I do a tool change I manually
move the knee down 4" and let the tool table offset handle the
fraction. Is there a better way of handling this?
This is still just a hobby. The knee on this machine is designed to
be active. Itis boxed and has turcite lined with a ball screw. I
guess I need to power it and assign it an axis I can jog during tool
changes.
