Hello,
I have been lurking and reading many posts for quite some time now. I finally went out and purchased an RF-45 mill drill to convert to cnc and have a few questions.
I am planning on using servo motors as per jeffs website www.homecnc.info and gecko's. The thing im little vague about are the ballscrews, as far as I can tell rockford ballscrews seem to be the cheapest way to go is this right? I am planning to drive x & y axies as per normal, but I would like to drive the head rather than the quill. My question is what size ballscrew should I be using for the table and what size for the head.
Has anyone done such a conversion before, I would like to hear some advice on the pro's and con's etc...
Thankyou in advance, this group has been very helpful even without me posting questions!
Regards,
Jason Cox.
