Yes!

Forget ALL floppies that came with ALL hardware. All those floppies
have DOS and Windows
drivers. Formatting your HD for Windows will not do much good for
Linux.

Most PnP works OK under Linux. I have a number of PnP cards (mostly
PCI, but some
ISA, too,) and they have configured with no trouble at all.
