I recently added Koyo encoders to a Cincinnati 5VC-750 with Siemens 3078
motors. The encoder was mounted on the back of the tach cover and covered
with sections of muffin tin.(high tech stuff<BG>) I bored a hole through
the back cover and turned a tapered adaptor shaft to fit the tach mounting
nut. The encoders used were the hollow shaft type. They have springy ears
on the body to handle misalignments. The springy ears were bolted to the
tach cover and the hollow shaft solidly mounted to the tapered adaptor shaft.
Contact me off list and I can send you a cad file with the details.
