Bport CNC quill and ballscrew cleaning

I noticed in the maintenance manual that the quill and ballscrew are
to be cleaned every 6 months. When I mean cleaned they are talking
about tearing the head down to remove the spindle/quill/ballscrew. A
diagram shows the ballscrew, with the nut still on, and pouring
cleaning fluid over the entire piece to remove all residue.
Has anyone gone through this level of 'cleaning'? Has anyone done
it at all? If you have cleaned it, did you notice any accuracy
change in the Z direction?
