Mist cooling soluton?

I have a friend with a cnc router making signs in aluminium using
mist coolant. He is finding the cost of the solution expensive at
$280.00 a gallon! What are others using? his is a vegetable base
product i think by Tryco (?) . Help , suggestions please.......
