Robert,
Momentary means that the switch will be closes as long as you hold it
closed. Once you release it, a spring will return it to its normal position.
On my CNC control box, I use a contactor that I use as a self latching
relay. With the on/off switch in the on position, I can than press my
momentary switch which in turn provides a path for voltage to latches the
contactor. The contactor then provides a path for power to my power supply
and my router. If power is lost, or my EPO switch is pressed, the contactor
will drop power to my power supply and router.
