I haven't noticed a reply to your post so I will take a stab at it.
The Gecko G201/G210 drives are quite popular with the list members. There
are lots of them in use and almost without exception people are quite happy
with them. I do not know of another drive with equal specifications that is
anywhere near the same cost. Gecko customer support is tremendous.
Mach1 is gaining a lot of supporters. I think that I can safely say that it
is the only Windows based controller package that gives you a smooth pulse
stream without using an external controller box. If you want a Windows based
controller the current choices are Mach1, Flashcut, and DeskCNC/DeskWinNC
(probably forgetting something, but these seem to be the most popular).
