According to the EDM plans I just bought from Dan Mauch, vegetable oil is
supposed to do well. That's what I plan on
trying first. Plus it makes the shop smell like fried chicken.
Another thought is some of the thin synthetic oils. 5W50 Mobil 1 might be
good if you can keep it cool enough so it
doesn't creep up towards the 50W end of the spectrum.
I wouldn't be afraid of using Kerosene, there's just no way to ignite it if
the spark stays under the fluid. But I just don't want my shop smelling like
Kerosene.
