Ian,

I have some information on my web page www.campbelldesign.com. If you need
more detail, I have another page that is not listed.

VA (Volt amps) is just volts * amps. A dropping resistor cam be about 1.5K
at 5 watts.

My transformer comes with two secondary windings. I always connect them in
parallel. If you want 60 to 65 volts, the AC on the secondary should be
60/1.4 which would be about 42 volts. A 48 volt secondary would give you 67
volts. (48 * 1.4).
