Great day-in-the-morning.
I finally got the pieces together to finish my power supply - driver cabinet and put it all together. Jeff, I cobbled up a connector to go in place of the one on order, sorry but I couldn't wait. Hooked it all up, fired up Mach1, made a few adjustments, opened the cabinet and checked wiring 3 or 4 times but finally go the motors to move. Yahoooooo. Some final settings and such and I should be ready to cut some parts.
One thing though?? I'm using the Xylotex driver, 24V supply, PS motors of 0.82 amps, Vs 65Vdc ( I assume max volts), 31 watt. on a Sherline. So far the only setup that works well is at full step on the Xylotec board and 4000 steps/inch (200 step/rev X 20 TPI lead screw, direct drive). Suggestions on how to take advantage of 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8 step settings would be very welcome. I'm neglecting a bunch of stuff to play with this thing but hell I'm retired so I only have to do what I want to do.... right??
Thanks all for all the help and unintended encouragement, PJH
