"I can't figure out why space limitation is such a bid problem in a
machine shop, "
Well, some of us aren't in a machine shop. I want a machine I can
take to a jobsite and work. Sure, I can buy a lap-top. I would need
two laptops - one to edit files on and one to run the machine.....
Hey, I could set up a network!
Another Idea is a desktop system. I can see a "Clisby" mill in a
small suitcase type enclosure one could plug into a wall-socket or 12
Volt source and play.
The reason I am interested in PalmOS CNC is the portability of the
system. And, it IS a hobby. If it were all cut and dried AND, I had
an unlimited suply of money - and space, I might just hire it done.
It might be one can build a computer and have all "solid state"
drives, similar to what a PalmOS machine has. But again, one is
venturing into an area where help will not be available.
