90v dc brake voltage

I have a Gidding and Lewis servomotor with a 90vdc
brake. They suggest that I can just take the 115vac
line from the wall, pass it through a bridge and use
that for the voltage (there is something else in the
circuit, but no isolation). That impresses me as a
good way to kill myself.

Since I don't have any isolation transformers, I was
thinking about taking two transformers of suitable
amperage rating and puting them back to back. This
should work, right? Do I have to worry about
saturation?

On a similar vein, I was thinking that there is no
harm in using a 3 phase transformer on a single phase
circuit. Am I missing something in my ignorance?
