The voltage of your salvaged capacitor is too low.

You may be able to make up a suitable size cap. bank at adequate voltage by using these formula as a basis

The total voltage of series capacitors is numerically additive.
Vtotal =Vc1 + Vc2 =Vc3 etc
The total capacity of series capacitors is found by the formula
1/ctotal = 1/c1 + 1/c2 + 1/c3 etc.

If you have 2 24000uf\75v capacitors just connect them in series, this will give you 12000uf/150v
