Hi Graham,
You don't mention the size of your router, but I'd suggest getting some
1/4"-20 threaded rod for a PCB sized project. Then drive 1:1 with
steppers. At half-step, this will give you 8000 spi, or .000125"
resolution. ACME screws would be better, of course.
