Got a question: Whats the difference between a bench lathe and an
engine lathe?
The term "Engine Lathe" is from the time when there were
only "Lathes" and they were used for, primarily, woodwork. The
necessity of repetitive and accurate work came with the advent of the
industrial revolution. The "Engine Lathe" was needed to build the
steam engines.
