Anyone know how to convert text to line and arc entities?
The only way I've ever been able to get a .dxf file of lettering is to use
Corel Draw. After placing the text (you can use any true type font, and also
align the text with slanted lines, curves, etc.) you select the text and use
a menu option that says, "Convert to Curves". This option is under one of the
main menu choices at the top of the screen and it causes all the selected
text to be "exploded" into their basic lines & arcs. After that, just export
to .dxf and bring everything into your CAM program.
I'd still like to know if there's any way to do this in <name_goes_here>CAD
;) . I need to see if I can get Corel going in Linux under WINE...
