die grinder in CNC router

I'm laying out the (what just might be) the final layout of a CNC router
using bosch extrusions and smaller linear components. The z-axis is quite
limited by design (only 1.5") and to concern parts I was wondering if I
could use a "right angle die grinder" air attachment for the router spindle.
The design is the "upside down" where it can be moved anywhere, so that any
size of panel can be routed just by sliding the base around on it. With
this design, the thinest possible spindle hieght would be the best (because
it has to 'tuck' back up into the machine). SO! does a die grinder provide
enough power to act as a router? (rpms appear ok)
thanks, Dave L.
