Remember any wire carrying a current acts as an antenna and therefore a
source of interference to other more sensitive equipment.
The things to bear in mind when increasing the length of wires are:
1. The extra voltage drop that may be incurred - increase the area of the
wire if the wire lerngths are significant.
2. Keep the wires away from senstive signal carrying wires (ie separate
power and signal wires)
