The rails on the Y and Z are 1/2 by 2 cold rolled steel (+- .002 ).
The frame is 2.5 square tube. To get get the upper and lower Y frame
level and true I placed a waxed precision level across the surface
after I applied epoxy. The result was +- .001. To true the rail on the
1/2 inch face I used a dial indicator at each mount hole, used a
little force up or down to zero it, then tightened that one and moved
the dial to the next one and repeated the process. On the X axis I
used two separate rails per side, only because I had a hard time
initially, finding 1/2 by 2 cold rolled locally. May change this
axis later.
Total cost for all the rails and rollers was $ 370.00.

I may do a write up on it. Knowing what to build first so you can use
that asm. to build and align the next has become very interesting.
