I generally agree, the only thing is that the driver chips are
available as 1/2 bridge or 3 1/2 bridges (for 3-phase motor drives).
It was tempting to use 4 big chips for 3 motors, but I'm likely to end
up using 4 of the little chips per axis to get that modularity.
Prototype is going to be with the big chip tough, as a few of them are
on hand. In the end the cost isn't that different as the little chips
are substantially cheaper.
