Hi Derek,

I've just changed to the EA-D8/R8 combination after being plagued
with intermittant glitches. The new drivers have completely
eliminated the old problems. (My original cables were shielded CAT 5
cables grounded at the controller end.) My longest cable is only
10', there is no measurable voltage drop at the encoder end. I like
the modular cable connectors as they are so easy to come by, or make
yourself. Unless you need the high voltage option, I don't see the
need to go to the EA-D10/R10 drivers, as you know its the same
electronics just double the ground and + wires.
