I run the BDI 2.18 on a 200 mhz pentium. My Grizz uses 6000 pulses per
inch and I can manage about 30-36 ipm before the motors skip steps. More
than enough computer for a setup like this.

I also run the BDI TNG on a couple of 800 Mhz machines and am happy with
the performance. The video driver on these motherboards is not the
greatest but adequate for the things I do. With these PC's the freqmod
stepper driver can get upwards of 12 Kpps. You can figure rapid speed by
dividing that by the number of pulses per unit. The result is units per
second.
