RE: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] Pneumatics on my spindle question

One pneumatic cylinder on my Bridgeport 2J is definitely connected to the
break. The other attaches to the lower right portion of the head in the
same location that my J head machine has the small quill lock lever. I was
kind of hoping this was some sort of quick change tool apparatus since it
seems an awful lot of trouble to go through just to lock the head so you
could manually loosen the drawbar.
The nameplate on the Z axis reads Autonumerics, the NC controller reads
model "Positool 900" and the table reads "Position Wizard by Spindle Wizard"
if that's any help (they all seem to be out of business).
Anyone see something like this?
Jeff

Jeff!
one is the brake
the other should be the air motor
that drives the speed change device
