FS: Hurco Milling machine chassis for retrofit (repost)

Here is a great opportunity for someone wanting a machine to retrofit. This
isn't my machine, but I have seen it and it looks like an excellent candidate.
It is located in Monterey, CA and would cost about $750 to ship to NY. The
machine was originally a Hurco KMB-1, a machine I am very familiar with because
I recently bought one and resurrected it. The iron is really quite nice. This
machine already has an automatic oiling system, complete with control
solenoids, etc. It also has a pneumatic brake, 2HP motor (144 to 3000RPM
original VFD controlled range), VFD spindle (retrofit, not the original
Parajust drive), Quick Switch 200 spindle, and full servo system with Servo
Dynamics (or WestAmp... same thing) amps. Relays, power supplies, etc are all
there. The control boards are missing, and hence this is a retrofit project
that would be an excellent EMC or other project. Other things that are missing
or should be disclosed are:
1. X and Y encoders (can use US Digital ones for about $60/ea or so)
2. X axis servo cover (not that important, and you can probably find one
eventually)
3. Y encoder cover (also something that can be made)
4. Original Wilkerson coalescing filter/regulator/oiler. Any $50 eBay unit
will do, but something has to be added)
5. Table is in excellent condition, but has 10 holes (two sets of 4 near the
ends, and then a pair in the middle) drilled and tapped in it. These were,
presumably, used for a fixture. They almost look original, but they are not.
That is about it, as far as I can tell. The machine could not be powered up,
so I can only assume that everything would work fine, but based on what I've
seen, I think that isn't too much of a concern. The machine is $1800 or BO
within the next week or so. The owner wants to get rid of this pretty quickly,
so if you are interested don't wait too long. Oh, one more thing... He does
have a forklift and hence can load it. If you use the carriers I've used in
the past (true point to point machinery movers) they don't want the machine on
a skid.
Any questions, let me know.... I can probably answer them if they are technical
in nature about the machine; other types may take a bit longer to resolve.
