My antique Allen-Bradley had this. The feedrate would actually ramp up and
down as moves started and stopped. This much activity isn't necessary
(the AB updated the screen at 100 Hz, same as the servo update rate and
the trajectory update). But, showing the rate it is actually going (at the plateau
of the trapezoidal velocity profile) would be nice. Of course, it now shows
the feedrate of the LAST move in the program, since the interpreter has
run to the end before I hit start!
