Moving machine tools

Fellows I seen a lot of posts on moving machine tools and the
related high cost
In past three years I have moved three BP type mill a medium lathe
and 9x18 surface grinder
using a cheap but safe method.
Find a tilt bed flat bed car hauler operation. If you call around
you will find
an owner that will do it The last move I made cost me 160 bucks door
to door at my convience
this is in the west Chicago burbs ,the move was about 25 miles and
done on a Saturday.
give it try.
the kid that drove the truck was experienced and professional
he told me he had moved boats small planes a helicopter and lots of
mechanics rollaway.
