CAD vs. CAM

I am in a dilema. I am getting a degree in engineering management
technology and have the choice of a specialty in CAD or CAM. If I
take the CAD option i will have to stay an extra semester just for
one class. What is the difference between CAD and CAM? Which one
would be more beneficial to me in the long run? Thanks for any help.
