A tiny bit of history. I bought a Series I Bridgeport CNC machine
less control about 3 years ago. Have been collecting parts for it for
some time. Today I decided to start on it a tiny bit by "Stuffing"
the backpanel of the cabinet. I found surplus toroidal transformers,
capacitors and got the Gecko drives modified by Mariss at
Geckodrive.com. for Nema 42's. (Thanks Mariss)
I will post progress reports here. It will be awhile. A few minutes
here and there I anticipate I'll make slow and steady progress.
Comments surely appreciated. At this point, I have a box loaded with
Linux and did the BDI. EMC is running on it. But now have been
hearing some good things about Art's MACH I. Would require me to get
another PC and load XP. Also need to either buy 2 DB25 breakout boxes
or just hardwire a couple of cables, though I think the breakout
boxes would be better. Thoughts?
