I can respond to the Pin #7 question, but hope Mariss will chime in
on the output wiring question.
Pin 7 is an optional pin that can be used as part of an E-stop or
other stop signal. when energized, it stops the drives from sending
an output. if you did have that wired in, that would be the first
place I would look. if it is not wired then skip that as a concern.
