It would be both cheaper and better to cut threads
that size on a lathe. Cheaper because a threading
tool to fit in a boring bar is cheaper than a huge
tap. Better because the threads are _much_ more
likely to be parallel and concentric to the part
axis if cut on a lathe. So much so that I would
lathe cut the threads, even if I already had the
tap.
