Yes, assuming servo motors. It would not be practical with steppers, as
no two
steppers position exactly the same throughout the revolution. It would be
better to combine two servo motors with belts at the same end of the screw,
however, because the screw can vibrate like a torsion spring, and you don't
want to excite vibrational modes like this.
