I'm not sure what the specs on the 1500HD were, but I happen to have several
Toshiba T1000's laying around here. They're coveted by packet radio
operators and are a minimal form factor and are rugged as hell. they boast
512k of RAM, ...an 80c88 brain single 720k floppy drive, and DOS 2.11 in
ROM.... no HD, no DOS updates.... but like you said, event though the
batteries are long-since dead, there's still plenty of life left in 'em.
