Re: [CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO] MPJA 24v 10amp Transformers - Anyone actually using it?

Hi Shawn,
yes, I've used this transformer on the hobbycnc machine. The
unloaded voltage is at least 34vdc, which I thought was perilously
close to the max voltage for the drivers (35v), so I have a switch on
the primary, and start on the 220v tap, which precharges the big
capacitor to about 17v, and allows a low-heat dry run. Then when
full power is needed, I switch to the 110v tap, with the drivers
already on. With the coils loading the cap, the voltage doesn't rise
above 34v, so I feel this is safer. It looks like a good quality
transformer, 10amps is enough for me, and the price is good!
Regards, Paul
