I did not have any alignment problems,,, I started with tightening one
rail up, then the other. Things slid very smoothly. If you did have
misaligned rails, I can see the hassles, but they also offer bearings
with more "turnout" at the ends so it rides in the center more....
The Ceramic coated aluminum rails came to my mind because these are easy
to drill and tap. You can place them on a Thomson "low profile rail
stand" and use open bearings if one would like.
