Hi,
You can use a yellow site transformer (the larger the better) designed for
running 110 volt tool such as drills and saws. These are centre-tapped 59
volts AC transformers. Remove the transformer from the box and cooling oil,
spilt the centre-tap and then treat as two 59 volt transformers.
It is possible to join them together in parallel, thus doubling the
available current. By the time you put rectifiers and caps it should be
quite near 70 volts DC.
I'm using this system to build a large supply to run my servos via Gecko's
on my BP clone.
Regards,
Terry
Hi all
I'm still in the planning stages for my first attempt at CNC, which
will be a plasma table with a cutting envelope of 3Mx1.5M.
I have gained a great deal from lurking here for a while but now need
specific info/advice.
I have read that it is possible to make a 70ish volt power supply
from a 110 transformer(I'm in the UK),
