First question to as is what type of motors does it use to drive the
axis? If it uses Servo motors,
are the control amps ok? This will determine which control program you
can use. For example
Turbocnc which does a good job with lathes will not work with straight
servo systems. But you
can use Geco's to interface servo motors to it. Jon Elson at pico
systems can give you advice
if you need new servo amps pico-systems.com/. Emc which can handle
either servos, or steppers,
But the last word I heard was it still doesn't work with a spindle
position encoder.
