Not sure if it is exactly an even proportion, but at rest (holding
torque) you will get less than the rated 1000 oz in. But, when it comes
to running torque which is what we are usually most concerned with there
will be very little difference. This is because once the motor starts
turning you don't have to hit a very high RPM for inductance to become
what limits the current instead of your drive setting. So in the real
world running a 6 amp rated motor at 4 amps will make very little
difference except that it heats a little less.
