Hi Tony,
Quite a while back I used the IM483 (not the H series though). If
I recall corretly, the max voltage and amperage was (as the name
implies) 48V @ 3 Amps. They worked quite nicely at those voltages
and amperages. I haven't used a Gecko (so I can't compare
performance), but the Gecko certainly gives a much wider voltage and
amperage range(when compared to the IM483).

If you are buying new, Gecko looks to be a much better deal (the
current 201 price is less than half the cost of the IM805H based on a
IMS price sheet from Aug/2000 that I have).

The IM483 type device has screw terminals like the Gecko. The
IM483H type of device has a bunch of pins, which is perhaps a good
thing if you are building motherboard type of system.
