What sort of z axis are you doing? The conversions I've read about so far
require a little beef to be removed from the column in order to accomodate the
ballscrew. One guy was going to put together a bolt up kit that featured a
ballscrew mounted to the side of the column, but had binding problems in the
ways that required changing the ways to a different angle. I think he dropped
the project, as he subsequently vanished, taking his ball home with him.
If memory serves, that _may_ have been the Grizzly mini-mill though. It's
been a little while.
