This isn't a stupid question !

Nook manufactures the McMaster Carr ball nuts. They don't sell a tap.
They told me to do single point threading on a mill to make the
threads. Lacking a CNC mill (we are doing the retrofit now), we used
1-3/16 x 18 TPI purchased from KBC.

The ball nuts fit loose in that thread, but if you tighten the nut
against the body it tightens up. Furthermore, we ground a flat spot on
the nut and used a set screw to hold it firm if it couldn't be adjusted
against the body.

Our axes are all zero backlash, so we've got 2 nuts on every screw. We
orientate the setscrew the same on the main nut and the backlash nut.
