Hi,
Whether or not a leg of a DC source should be grounded and which one
depends on the design. I've worked on equipment where is was, others
where it wasn't, and some low voltage circuits (24V) with a 'floating
ground' of 10,000 VDC. If you are using a proven design - follow it.
