I clamped them in a vise (after one jumped in the floor). For power I
have a 0-130VAC varable transformer good for a couple hundred watts,
connected to a rectifer bridge, that to the motor and a volt and amp
meter hooked up too. Raise the voltage slowly and see if the smoke stays
in. :) With the meters you can see if the specs are close to what the
motor plate says it should be. You can connect the motors to the machine
and test to see what the current is to over come friction and such.
Real handy.
