Hello All:
First off,
Marc, I didn't know you IBM user's wore your shorts so tight, relax, get
laid, drink a cold one, or something. :) Hearing you and a few other's
spamming someone in this group, is far worse then people trying to sell
something that might be use full to one of us. You have the right to just
scroll down to the next post if you don't like it. This is America the land
of the free and home of the brave, and hopefully, people with manners. Some
of us here are experts in electronics, programing, machining, etc. But most
of us are not expert in all fields.
Myself, I am an expert at nothing. I just have an interest in hobby
machining and hope to learn something from all you intelligent like minded
people. We all appreciate yours, and others contributions to this list. Lets
get back to Helping, Learning and Sharing Ideas about
CAD/CAM/CNC/SOFTWARE/COMPUTERS/CNC CIRCUIT BOARDS/METAL.
I am an outcast here right off because I'm a MAC user and most CNC
products seem to be for the IBM users. I could use all the help I can get on
this stuff for sale, whether it be, motion control boards, stepper motors,
IBM computers, steel, IBM software, etc. I agree that sale offers should be
connected to things CAD/CAM/CNC/SOFTWARE/COMPUTERS/CNC CIRCUIT BOARDS/METAL,
and should be short and to the point like:
Example #1
I have the following items for Sale or Auction.
HP48 GX FA For a DRO component. $xxx.00
Printer For the HP $xxx.00
B/W Xterminals that could easily run from Linux $xxx.00
(200) 8052 Controllers $xxx.00
(12) PIC 17c42 Controllers $xxx.00
(1)A Plotter, that could be used to plot encoders $xxx.00
14" Monitor, you could plug on a PC for a DRO Display $xxx.00
1/2" round TITANIUM $xxx.00
1" 1018 round Steel $xxx.00
2" round Plastic $xxx.00

Example #2
Date: Fri, 17 Mar 2000 09:52:27 -0700
From: "Charles VanLeeuwen" <cavlon@...>
Subject: FS laptop with slots
I have an older "IBM Lap Top" for sale on ebay that has two full-size
expansion
slots plus two serial ports and both internal floppy and external floppy
port that might be of interest as a CNC controller to someone. The unit needs
some work/settings changes so this is for a PC guru type, but at the price it
might be a good deal for someone for the shop.

PS Maybe you should get a Mac, then some of you wouldn't be so Grouchy! :)
OH, I almost forgot to ask my question. I hear you people talk about Linux
and EMC. I hear of Red Hat, Yellow Hat, and now I see a Linux Mandrake 7.0 at
CompUSA. Are these all different OS's and does EMC run on all?
