Stepper Driver Modification

Did you ever have "one of those" projects? The kind you just can't get
to work right?

Well, mine is my stepper driver boards! I should be able to do it in my
sleep, but it just won't work. It's a simple circuit that uses a
297/298 chipset...

Is there anyone (preferbly in North Texas -- I know there are several in
my area, on the list) who would be willing to help me modify my simple
little stepper boards? They have an on board 555 as a pulse generator,
and I need to bypass it and convert to external input for
step/direction. Simple... Harvey even sent me instructions (BTW:
Thank you, Harvey!) -- it's just giving me fits, though. I think I
need someone, physical, sitting next to me, helping me with the
modification. Or, if someone's willing to do it for me, I'm more than
willing to ship them to you! (hint, hint!)

It's about a 5 minute job...and I can't seem to get it to work! ARGH!
Sorry...I'm just frustrated... I should be able to do this in my
sleep! I hate it when projects "go bad."
