It should work, with a few tricks. I'm following the same scheme with
my PPMC and universal stepper controllers, and have gotten it to work
for me. I think you may need the 2-20 BDI, although the 2-18 may also
work. I had to download newer sources from SourceForge to get this
working.

You need to select the TASK = bridgeporttask
and EMCIO = bridgeportio

in the appropriate places in the .ini file. (Paul has a slight error in a
change he made in the minimilltask and minimillio that prevents the
spindle speed control from working, at least with my hardware.)
