Ah hah! You did the 3D model. Did you ever build one yourself?

I just need 6, 2mm ballbearings and I am ready to roll, no pun
intended. Please email me some if you have any :)

I reckon if I get results aything like with my Proxxon and delrin
then you guys with your servo systems and fancy steel should be able
to make something that works really well!

I recently saw a touch probe that used an LED, two lenses and a
differential photodiode, very clever and possibly buildable from the
optical side of things. You still need nice tilt mech though.
