So many choices; what motors or controllers work best?

I just purchased a Taig mini mill that is cnc ready and I need to get
the stepper motors, controller, software for widows and anything else
that I need. I am not sure what size stepper motors I need or what
controller I need or what software I need. (Can you tell that I did
extensive research on this subject before I started this project?)

Is there anywhere I can get a package that includes all items I need or
do I have to piece it out and buy everything separate? Also, would there
be any benefit to using a stronger stepper motor for the z axis because
of the added weight of the motor? Are there some motor and controller
manufacturers that have a better track record and that you recommend or
would not recommend?

I have AutoCAD 2000 and I have a background in cnc programming (2 axis)
of lasers for sheet metal manufacturing but this is the first time with
the hardware side of it.

Please excuse my ignorance on these issues but we all have to start
somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
