Hi Group,
My name is Ben and I'm also a newbie at this group. I like this group on various topic and resolutions. Let me introduce my self, I'm a relational Database programmer Since 1988. I recently decide to back to school and get into the field that I like best and that is Mechanical Engineering. I recently salvaged an old Dyna 2400. I also puchased a cnc router and got all the component working. So just about all, I'm ready to start doing some serious machining.
I'm currently enrolled in a CNC class and we are using SurfCam 2002 Plus. It's very robust but I haven't see any mention about this software. Does anyone use this and how does it compare to MasterCam ? The instructor is the Quality Manager for this product and have provided us with a CD version of it. We can install it on our machine and distribute it. Does anyone want a copy? It allow us to generate CAD 3D and save it as DXF (AutoCad Format). The only restriction is posting nc code. Let me know and if anyone want the class notes and sample exercise , I'm more than happy to include it.
Best regard,
Ben Ly
